Road Control - planning (route optimisation) offers a powerful solution to calculate the most cost-effective way to serve your customers and to reach the selected places from your centre or several centres (depots, service centres) with your fleet.

The planning (routing and scheduling) takes account of the vehicle features (vehicle types, fixed costs and costs per km, vehicle capacity, minimum break times for drivers etc.), the features of the places, the required delivery capacity, service time windows,  real service times (such as the time of unloading, the time of a service intervention), assignments of specific vehicles and places, their priorities and many other criteria. The support of exact address geocoding and import from csv, xls is included.

Question:
Is address geocoding supported in Road Control?
Answer:
Yes, the support of exact address geocoding is included in all Road Control products. You may import the addresses to Road Control from *.csv for instance and Road Control will try to geocode them while performing the remote calculation. Question:
Is it possible to batch import the task for calculation?
Answer:
Yes, both Road Control and Road Control Enterprise offer this possibility; *.csv  a*.xls. formats are supported. It is also possible to integrate Road Control Web Service with your systems and use it.

Question:
Do I need Internet connection to run Road Control?
Answer:
The product Road Control requires Internet connection. If you use Road Control Enterprise with locally installed data, Internet connection is not necessary.

Question:
For what platforms/operating systems is Road Control available?
Answer:
Road Control is a 32-bit Windows application.

Question:
What computer performance do I need?
Answer:
If you use remote calculation in the cloud, a standard PC running office applications will be sufficient.

Question:
What does "truck routing support" mean?
Answer:
It is a possibility to define vehicle features and vehicle behaviour specific to trucks and other vehicle types such as vans, buses etc. in particular. These features include the physical parameters (weight, height…) and cargo features. When planning the schedule, Road Control takes account of the relevant movement restrictions that may occur on some roads. Selected restrictions are displayed directly on the map.

Is it possible to change the number of vehicles Road Control operates with?
Answer:
Yes, you may change the services subscribed to at any time. If you use Road Control Enterprise with locally installed data, you will, however, need to buy more data licences when increasing the number of vehicles.

Is it possible to use Road Control outside European countries?
Answer:

Does Road Control allow for the possibility to make schedules for longer time periods?
Answer:
Road Control processes tasks and calculates schedules for one day (24 hours).

Question:
Is it possible to have several different vehicle profiles within one schedule?
Answer:
Yes,  Road Control planning can work with heterogeneous fleet. Road Control calculates schedules taking account of various vehicle profiles.

Is it possible to set various priority parameters of service at individual places and various priority parameters to use the vehicles?
Answer:
Yes, Road Control allows you to set various priority parameters of service as well as various priority parameters of vehicle use.
